Gretchen had been having a long morning. First the twins were crying at the same time to be fed and now Cian and Myles were arguing over who would be the captain today on the ship. Gretchen: *mumbles* Moms never get a break do they? Myles: No I want to be the captain today! You made me be the sea monster yesterday! Cian: Nuh uh! Gretchen: Boys, boys! How about you play a different game other than pirates vs. the sea monster okay? Of course an argument ensued with the boys. In the middle of it all Gretchen heard a loud knock at the front door and turned her head to see a tall, dark skinned man in a black suit standing at her front door. When she went to go open it her words got caught in her throat. Peter: Hey there sis. Long time no see, huh? Gretchen: You, how, you found me. But I sent that letter so long ago! Peter: Yea about that...it seems that Daniel didn't exactly give it to us when he got it because of he thought it was from aliens or something but you know how he can be sometimes. Gretchen: Well did you come with anybody else? Peter: Uh yea I did actually. Erica and Daniel are both here and so is my wife, Lilah. They're kinda standing outside because they told me to walk up and make sure this was the right house first so I think we can let them in now. Gretchen rushed to the front door and gave all her family members a hug. Daniel: I'm sorry Gretchen. I thought it was the aliens sending it. Gretchen: It's okay Daniel don't worry about it, all I'm glad for is that you guys are here now. By the way it's great that someone finally snatched up my brother Lilah. How long have you guys been married? Lilah: Oh a while now, we have two kids of our own and then we adopted Cassiels daughter. Gretchens mouth dropped open and she looked at her family in astonishment, Gretchen: Cassiel had a KID?! She hates kids! Peter: Yea well she had one with the guy named Baato and all the sudden we found her daughter on our front step with a note and we haven't even seen or heard from Cassiel since. Gretchen: Omygosh the poor thing...speaking of kids how are your kids Erica? Erica: Oh they all got married or are dating someone! We held a speed dating event for them and it all actually worked out very well and they have all found someone now. Gretchen: That's awesome! I miss the little ones, even though they aren't really little anymore. Myles: Um Mommy? Helloooo? Are you not gonna introduce me and Cian to your friends? Gretchen laughed and brought her two sons to her side and squeezed them, Gretchen: Everyone, meet my two sons. This one right here is Myles and this shy one over here is Cian. Everyone smiled broadly at the two little boys and Peter did a little waving of his hand which caused Cian to hide behind his moms leg. Gretchen: I have two other little ones but they're still babies and they're upstairs right now. I actually had twins believe it or not! A boy and a girl named Jax and Celine! Peter: That makes since that you would have a set of twins considering you are a twin! All the sudden Angelo came into the room and gave a hearty welcome to his guests, Angelo: Well I didn't know you were hosting a party Gretchen! I would have gotten my best clothes on! The Bloomer family laughed and Peter through up his arms, Peter: So THIS must be the man you were telling us about in your letter. Your husband right? Angelo let out a deep bellowing laugh, Angelo: No son, my wife passed away a long time ago. I'm her father-in-law. Speaking of your husband, Gretchen, where is he? Gretchen shuffled her feet nervously and scratched her arm, Gretchen: Well I haven't seen him since yesterday after that thing happened... Lilah noticed that Gretchen was starting to feel uncomfortable so she interjected, Lilah: Why don't you show us around your Newcrest, Gretchen? It will be fun to have a family outing! Gretchen gladly took Lilah's advice and rushed the boys upstairs so they could all get ready. She phoned a babysitter for the twins and left Damen a voicemail telling him where they were and for him to call her back. Gretchen wasn't very worried, she wanted to spend time with her family now. The first place they headed was the Newcrest park and as they all sat down at the picnic tables Gretchen started to cook some kebabs. Peter: It's so great to meet you Charlotte! I didn't think my own sister Charlotte would ever settle down, and on top of it all I have a cute little niece too? You guys sure have been busy over here haven't you? Charlotte blushed and smiled, Charlotte: Oh well, I suppose. It was great finally to meet someone that I could relate to... Angelo: And it is great to have so many grandbabies if I do say so myself! Cian was quietly standing back listening to the adults talk. He was to nervous to sit down but he tapped his newfound Aunt Erica on the shoulder, Cian: Do you think I could sit beside you? Erica smiled warmly and patted the little amount of space she had left at the table, Erica: Sure thing sweetie, come over here and sit down. While everyone was still eating Peter and Gretchen decided to do a bit of cloud gazing before heading to the neighborhood pool. Peter: You know, when you and Charlotte left without a word I was really worried. Gretchen: I know. I didn't want to leave but we didn't have a choice. Me and Charlotte made some bad decisions and the Lollipop Lair operation was one of them, I realize that now that I'm older. I feel like the only reason we joined was because we were like Cassiel... Peter: Well I'm glad I found you guys now. Today is just about family, right? Gretchen: Right. After everyone finished eating they all piled into the family SUV and headed over to the neighborhood swimming pool, Angelo: What are you all waiting on, Christmas? Cian: Grandpa what's Christmas? Angelo: Something they have in Sunset Valley that we don't yet. Myles: Well I want it too! Angelo: Maybe someday kiddos. Everyone immediately ran to the changing rooms and changed into their swimsuits. The firs tone to get in the pool was Daniel who was followed my Gretchen and Charlotte, then the boys and finally Angelo. Myles: Grandpa wanna play a who can hold their breath the longest game? Angelo: Well I will tell you right now son that back in my day I was in tip top shape and I could out swim and hold my breath longer than anyone I knew! Cian: Yea Grandpa that was back in YOUR day though. It's mine and Myles's day now! Everyone was having a great time except for little Elsa. She was to scared to get into the pool even though one of her moms was already in it. Elsa: Momma are you sure there aren't any sharks? Charlotte: Baby, listen. How many times have I told you there are only sharks in the ocean? Elsa: Mmmmm...like a bagillion? Charlotte: Exactly, now Momma will hold on to you while we swim around okay? Elsa: I don't know...maybe I'll stay up here for now. Peter: If you want I can help your mom teach you how to swim properly, Elsa. Elsa: No thank you Uncle Peter. I think I'm gonna stay up here for now. Meanwhile Cian had gotten out of the pool and had completely captivated Lilah and Ericas attention, Cian: And then the sea monster blasted through the waves and I shot it with a cannon and it exploded into confetti! Lilah: Oh wow! Erica: How big was the sea monster? Cian stretched out his arms as far as they could go, Cian: Like, thiiiiiis big! It was HUGE! Lilah and Erica looked at each other and Lilah sighed, Lilah: Maybe I should have another..they're so cute and innocent when they're little. Back at the pool Charlotte and C were both still trying to coax their daughter into the pool. Elsa: See Momma I put my feet in! Now make sure no sharks get me, kay? C: Yes baby I'll beat them up before they get you. Charlotte: Look Elsa, Mommy got into the pool and no sharks got me! Elsa: Yea but I wanna be like Auntie Erica. Can I read a book by the pool too Mommy? Erica looked up from her book briefly to smile at the little girl, Charlotte: Well I didn't bring any of your books with me sweetheart. Elsa: Oh poo...it's okay Mommy, I'm fine with sticking my feet in the water. That way if I see a shark I can jump out and run away! The day was drawing to a close and most of the family decided to get in the hot tub beside the pool. Gretchen: Hey guys I was wondering if you all wanted to come back to the Estate because it's the twins birthday and my birthday today and I was thinking we could have a little family party! Lilah: I love the sound of that! It'll be great to meet your last two little ones before we leave too. Daniel: As long as we leave before nighttime comes, I don't want the aliens to come get me. Angelo slowly got out of the pool and grunted on his way out, Cian: Grandpa where are you going? Angelo: To use the bathroom. Cian: Ewwww! Angelo: What? Old people gotta poop too. Myles turned away and shook his head, Myles: Oh Grandpa that was just uncalled for. As soon as they got back to the Estate, Gretchen went upstairs to grab the twins so they could all celebrate their birthday together. The first one to age up was little miss Celine. She wanted to be an Artistic Prodigy like her brothers and acquired the Geek trait! She is the cutest little thing on the face of the planet omygosh! Next to age up was Mr.Jax! He aged up to want to be a Social Butterfly, completely different than his artsy siblings, and he also gained the Goofball trait! Also he developed a fascination with hats. As soon as the twins aged up they went to meet their extended family, Jax & Celine: Hi we're the twins! Celine: My name's Celine! Jax: And my name is Jax! Jax & Celine: It's great to meet you! Ericas bottom lip started to tremble as she looked at the cute little twins, Erica: Oh I miss having little kids. Daniel: Kids are great but fairy juice is better! After introducing themselves to one set of extended relatives they moved on to introducing themselves to Lilah and Peter, Jax: Hi I'm Jax! Celine: And I'm Celine! I heard you came from far away to visit Mommy. Thanks for doing that, she's been sad recently. Lilah smiled at the two kids and glanced over at Peter, Peter: No. No more kids Lilah, even though they are as cute as a button. After the twins celebrated their birthday it was time for Gretchen to finally join the world of Adulthood! Gretchen: Ugh..goodbye smooth face, hello age wrinkles.. Lilah: WOO YEA! Peter: Jeez babe calm down! Lilah: I HAD TO MUCH COFFEE SORRY. Jax: *blows loudly into the trumpet* Celine: Happy birthday to youuuuu, happy birthday dear Mommy, happy birthday to you! After everything and everyone had finally settled down, it was time for the Bloomers to leave this Newcrest and head back to their own. Gretchen: I wish you guys didn't have to go.... Peter: I know sis...but you know our family has a duty to our Newcrest. Gretchen: I know, I know..now you be safe on those roads on your way back. Keep in touch too, okay? Peter: Of course we will! Gretchen: Also I really like your wife, she's a free spirit and it's about time we had someone with an open mind in this family. Peter: Yea I know she's great...maybe you could come visit us sometime? Gretchen paused and shook her head, Gretchen: Only if the police have completely forgotten about us, then we will visit. Have a safe trip home brother. I programmed my number into your phone already so we can keep in touch. I love you. Peter: I love you too Gretchen, see you soon.
