It had been over a week and all Harley was doing was laying in her bed staring at the wall. Harley’s bedroom became a giant rotating door. At first Jensen came in and tried to talk some sense into her, he was a little harsh as usual and got frustrated when she wouldn’t listen and buried herself further into her sorrow. Eventually he would give up and storm out of the room and then that’s when Celine would come in. Celine didn’t know what it was like to lose someone so suddenly. She didn’t even know that her daughter was seeing Mason. Was she that out of touch with her children’s lives? Either way she sat on her daughter's bed beside her and like a child, Harley would turn around and lay her head down in her mother's lap while Celine pet her head and hummed a lullaby. Harley had cried so much she couldn’t cry anymore. Her eyes were red and puffy from rubbing away the tears that had spilled out for days and landed on her pillow. The only thing that was keeping her braid neat and tidy was Celine, who would re-braid it for her everyday she came in. Delsin joked with her saying she stunk and needed a bath. Harley knew he was trying to lighten the mood but when she looked up at him she could see the worry etched across his face. Eventually she did get up to take a shower but all she did was sit on the floor of the tub and let the water droplets wash away as much of her pain as they could. After a few more days Delsin couldn’t stand it anymore. To Delsin, Mason was a jerk for leaving his sister behind like that. He read the letter and he could of done something if he cared enough! Now he had to watch his sister slowly fade away into nothing, but he wasn’t going to let that happen. Not on his watch. He went into Harley’s room and as usual she didn’t even acknowledge that anyone was even there. Delsin went over and grabbed her gently by the shoulders and lifted her up to a sitting position. With her eyes half closed she looked over a Delsin with a blank, emotionless expression on her face. “Sis, come on...you can’t keep acting like this…” No response. “You know Mom and Dad finally got that game room setup downstairs! Why don’t we go check it out?” No response again. “Harley I’m beggin you. Help me out here? I love you to death and this is killing me to see you like this.” Harley let out a long drawn out breath before slowly nodding her head, “I suppose we could hang out for a little bit...nothing better to do.” Delsin was so pumped up that she actually talked to him that he scooped her up into a giant bear hug. “Ow, Delsin that kinda hurts. You know my stomach has been upset these past couple of days and if you keep squeezing that hard it isn’t going to look very pretty.” “Sorry Sis, I’m just excited you actually said a whole sentence! I’ll let you get ready and I’ll go get everything set up okay?!” Harley shrugged her shoulders as her brother ran out of the door. Maybe it was time to start to live again. A piece of her may have been ripped out by the root but she still had her family. She still had this legacy to take over too. After an excessively long bath Harley changed her clothes and put her hair up. When she headed down to the basement area to meet her brother she came across Celine and all she did was give a light smile and kiss her daughter's cheek. Celine didn’t want her to feel overwhelmed and recede back into her depressed state. So even though she wanted to throw her arms around her and never let her go and never let her feel sad again she had to hold it all back. By the time Harley had gotten downstairs, Delsin had already set up the Foosball table, a game of darts, and plugged in the new arcade machine. Delsin was already playing a round and Harley silently walked over and joined in. The games round was long but Harley was racking up a lot of points and totally destroying Delsin’s chance of winning. When it all ended and she had one, it even pepped her up a bit. “Oh my gosh, I totally beat you Delsin!” Delsin threw his fist up into the air, “Curse you gaming Gods!” Harley let out a small laugh, “Ha! I knew my corny jokes would crack you up! Now I bet I can beat you at this game of darts!” Delsin was a pretty sore loser and every opportunity he got he tried to distract Harley. “Oh wow lookie over there! That is one big cockroach!” Harley’s face was completely concentrated as she spoke out of the side of her mouth, “We don’t even have a roach problem you dumby.” “HA! I still made you miss the bullseye though!” “I’m still going to beat you though because you’ll never get that close to the bullseye!” Delsin waved his hand in the air, “Suuuuure.Throw the rest of the darts! I’m ready for my turn already!” Harley flung the dart just right on her last try and landed right smack into the bullseye. “HA! In your face Delsin! I totally got the bullseye this time! How about you beat THAT score?!” Delsin mumbled something unintelligible underneath his breath as he grabbed the darts off of the board, “Yea well, step aside and let the master through.” With Delsin’s final throw Harley couldn’t help but smirk, “So about you being the “master” and all…” “Yea well...I wanted you to win!” “Uhuh okay.” With the darts game over, Harley won with 14 points and Delsin lost with only 10 points. Harley: 2 Delsin: 0 During the last game of Foosball Harley seemed like she was completely out of her funk. She was all smiles and laughs as her and Delsin played together. Mason was the last thing on her mind for once and even though she still felt a little bit of pain it wasn’t nearly as much as it had been. After Delsin “let” Harley win the last game Harley couldn’t contain herself and just hugged Delsin as hard as she could.
“Woah! What is it sis? Are you okay?” Harley nodded into Delsin’s shoulder as tears streamed down her cheeks, “Then why are you crying?!” Harley laughed and looked up at him with tears still in her eyes, “Because I’m happy.”
