Hello everyone! I have here with me today Munterbacon! Thank you so much for being with me on the show! No, no, no, thank you for having me. I am such a huge fan of the show, it is a real honor to be here. Awww thank you so much! I am a huge fan of your writing! All your stories in fact, especially your legacy! Shea is such a cutie! Speaking of your stories "Ironbound" was your first Simlit if I'm not mistaken? Correct me if I'm wrong though! Shea is amazing! I love how she has evolved into this incredibly wacky individual. Regarding "Ironbound", technically it's not my first. I had a few on Tumblr before I came to the forums, but I never really got into them, so I guess you could say that "Ironbound" was my first SimLit that stuck. Ahhh I see. So Ironbound is definitely a Sci-fi story! Can you explain to me what exactly the overall plot for the story is? Yeah definitely Sci-Fi, with sprinkles of Fantasy thrown in for good measure. "Okay, here it goes! "Ironbound" is set about a decade after a 600 year war. It follows Shaela Amaya, a Helsian warrior and first-born to the Helsian Chieftain as she is forced to live among her peoples enemies as part of the peace treaty's terms. Shaela's best friend, Princess Leyva is about to have a birthday party where she must choose a bond. She wants to choose Shaela, but because of her peoples hatred towards Helsian's she knows she cant. Her choice, no matter what she chooses would signal the end of her friendship with Shaela." And that sets up the very start of "Ironbound". Spanners laced with evil thoughts get tossed into the works on a regular basis, so things change pretty quickly, I won't go into details, it would spoil the wickedly evil surprise! Ohhhh that sounds so fascinating! I've started reading Ironbound myself and I can tell all my viewers out there that it is an AMAZING story to read! So where did you come up with such an interesting plot line and characters? I mean it seems like you even thought of different races for the story! It's based in the same world of a novel I am working on. A Helsian is the central character of that story, yet it is set thousands of years in the past, I reference to it at one point in "Ironbound" and a few times in my database posts. Regarding the plot, I had only planned up to the end of Leyva's birthday party. And even that didn't go as planned! So everything after that point was just... I don't know, writing on a whim. I have an idea of what I want to portray in a certain chapter, with a general guideline on where I want the story to go. So I screenshot with that in mind and write from there. Yes I did create a number of races for the story. The only race I didn't create was Nakaia's race, which is called Neneui and is a creation of the talented Nenpysims, over on Tumblr. My favourite race is probably the San'Dreki. It happened by chance, I was making a steward for the emperor, someone who looks after his summer home. And that is how Alfran came to be. I adored his look so much I created a background to his race... And then Sage happened, who took that race to the extreme and she is just AMAZING... Shaela is still my favourite, but Sage is so fun to write! Absolutely amazing! You are such a talented writer I'm not the least bit surprised that you're working on a novel! So with the addition of Ironbound you are also currently working on two other Simlit stories am I right? Earlier we referenced your legacy but you are also writing a story titled "My Life As A Zombie" am I correct? Yes that's right. "My Life As A Zombie" follows Joe Death, who narrates the story through a series of flashbacks. He is a zombie that has retained a portion of his mind, he even claims to have become smarter, but I reckon he was always smart, he was just a lazy human! It probably fits into the Zom-Com genre. It does have some pretty strong language, as Joe has a potty-mouth on him! I try to focus on the comedy though, the swearing is a massive part of the story, but the main focus is on the comedy of the world... Now I will be the first to admit that I love that story. I was seriously interested in it because I haven't seen anyone that has done a zombie story yet, and me being a huge fan of The Walking Dead and all things zombie, I was majorly interested! Was that just a story you came up with in a spur of the moment kind of thing or did you want to try a completely different genre that you've never tried before? Thank you! You're always a little bit worried when you do something a little bit edgy, but I think you've just got to go for it if you feel it'll benefit the story! "My Life As A Zombie" was an idea I came up with a few years ago on a night out with mates. They were all talking about the Walking Dead, and believe it or not, I haven't seen it (not even a single episode), so I was kind of out of the conversation. So instead of letting that bother me, I started my own conversation with anyone that would listen. Me: "You know what? I would love to see a zombie story from the zombies perspective!" Friend: "That wouldn't work, zombies are stupid." Me: "Who says they have to be? Out of the millions upon millions of zombies out there, why can't there be a few smart ones?" Friend: "Hmm... Good point!" And that's how it all started. Ahhhh I see! In my opinion if there are such things as zombies or monsters there has to be at least ONE out there that is smart. It looks like the story we haven't talked about yet is your legacy! I've personally been following it since you started and it is a relatively new story, am I right? What gave you the spark to do yet another story, and not only a story but a legacy challenge? Yeah, I started it in August after I finished my Short-Story entry. It's only just reached Gen 2, and Shea & Alyssa have two very handsome young boys! Shea sort of grew on me. She was so silly and quirky, she was almost like an extension of myself! Well both the other ones are plot-driven. I took a break from those two when I finished my first season of "Ironbound" in July. I sort of didn't want to stop writing, so I started something that was so different to my other stories. It's coming back to bite me on the bum as now I'm a little burnt out from writing, so am taking a break from all writing for a short while to refresh the mind. Well with juggling three stories I think you deserve a break! So how even did you get started writing Simlit? Were you a reader and decided to try out the other end of the stick and become a writer? To be honest, I'd never heard about SimLit until a friend of mine mentioned it to me after I showed her the intro to my novel. I was actually so against the idea of using Sims to illustrate stories, at that time the Sims wasn't my kind of game. But I caved, and bought the game in October, and I haven't looked back since. I think that's what happens with most Sims players, they buy the game and then BAM there's no turning back! So we're getting towards the end of the show but I still have a few more questions for you! We've already talked about your stories and I was wondering, are there any characters in those stories that you can relate to the most? As much as I would like to say that I could relate to Shaela - because she is my favorite - I'm afraid I don't know much about swords, soldiering and whatnot. I do think that I display her loyal streak, I'd do anything for friends and family. Shea is a massive goofball, and always sees the bright side of things like myself so I guess I would have to say that I could most relate to her. Could you imagine the crazy shenanigans we could get up to! Watch out!!! Haha! I often wonder what it would be like if my favorite Sim ever got out into the real world and the things we would do too. So the last question I have for you today is, do you have anything to say to your fans out there that read your stories? I just want to thank each and every one of them. That means you too lurkers! I write my stories because I love them, but seeing others enjoying them as much as I do is a real treat, I adore all the views, likes and comments. Hopefully I can come back from this burn out refreshed and ready to tackle my stories and give you all some shiny new content. That's all we have for today everyone! Hope you enjoyed this little interview with my wonderful guest Munterbacon, and thank YOU so much Munterbacon for letting me interview you! You're welcome, thank you for having me.
