The big announcement had just came out in the newspaper of who won the heir vote and the Belle Estate was celebrating! Celine was so proud of her daughter for winning but she knew that Delsin was taking it pretty hard. Harley on the other hand was giddy with excitement! With such a close race it was really stressful.
“How does it feel to be the next heir sweetpea?”
Harley couldn’t help but smile when her Mom said that. Her as the heir? Who would have thought!
“I mean I’m really excited to see what I can do with my future! Plus once I finish becoming a Best Selling Author I was thinking about trying out another aspiration too! I mean when I was a kid you know I finished two aspirations and I was the first in the family to ever achieve that.”
“Yes I remember baby, me and you’re Dad were so proud of you! You even are keeping an A in school!”
“Annnnd don’t forget I just released my first children’s book today!”
“How could I forget when you practically locked yourself in the study to finish it.”
Later, Celine and Harley went out clothes shopping in celebration and invited Delsin along but he didn’t want to come. He wanted to confess his sorrows to the one person he knew he could count on, Amber.
When he texted her to come over, as usual, she showed up flirty.
“Hey baby, you wanna mess around some since no one is here?”
“No not right now...I actually wanted to just talk.”
Amber was noticeably displeased with his reply, Delsin never and I mean NEVER gave up the chance for some good woohoo.
“Well what about?”
“Have you seen the newspaper yet?”
“Ummm I don’t read the newspaper?”
“Well the heir vote came out and my sister won….not me…”
Amber’s body went rigid and an angry grimace came onto her face and she turned her head. Delsin looked to her for reassurance but all he saw was anger and found no pity.
“What’s wrong? WHAT’S WRONG?! I’ve been dating you this entire time thinking YOU would win the heirship and we would get married and I would be a legacy wife!”
“Wait what? Don’t you love me?!”
“Love you?! No! I’ve been seeing other guys behind your back this entire time! To me you were just a way to marry into money!”
“WHAT?! Amber you had to have had feelings for me! I mean all those times we messed around you’re telling me you didn’t feel anything for me?!”
“No way! Woohooing just gets me whatever I want because I know no guy can resist it.”
Delsin slid down into the sofa as tears pricked his eyes. It was almost his birthday and this was not the way he imagined his teenage years ending.
“I gave you almost all my teenage years, gave up on Callie, I mean I don’t even TALK to Callie anymore because of you! You’re the one that got so jealous that I was texting her you threw my phone into the pool!”
“Well I had to make sure you were mine and weren’t thinking about straying away!”
Delsin got up and pointed to the front door,
“You need to leave Amber, and I mean leave forever. I don’t know why you did this or who put you up to this but I need time alone right now and I don’t ever want to see your face again.”
Amber stood up from the sofa and walked quickly to the front door.
“And one more thing Delsin. You were the biggest waste of my time!”
With that cynical smile and the slamming of the front door Amber was gone and Delsin felt a little piece inside of him crumble. Every step up the stairs to his room was painful. Everywhere in the house he could see a painful reminder of Amber. Sleep was his best option right now because time heals all wounds.
