After everything that had happened with Harley, Delsin didn’t want to let her out of his sight. But as usual she insisted he go out and have some fun. Delsin had someone in mind that he wanted to take with him because after seeing how Mason had just abandoned his little sister it made him want to make his move even more. So he sent a quick text to Callie and told her to meet him at the park. When she arrived he pulled her into a tight hug that might have lasted a little bit too long. “Well hello to you too!” Delsin pulled away and laughed nervously, “Sorry I just missed you…” They both sat down at a picnic table and Callie could tell that he was worried about something else. “So how’s your sister doing?” “Well. She’s doing as good as she could be considering she just grew up and became heir and now she got abandoned by that plumhead guy of hers.” Callie looked down at her hands and lowered her voice, “Yea I heard about that...if she needs anything tell her to just let me know okay?” “Yea. Thanks Callie.” There was an awkwardly long pause where the two of them just stared off into the distance. Delsin wasn’t sure if he was ready to take the step he was wanting to take, and if Callie would even agree with him. Eventually Delsin cleared his throat and straightened up his back, and then said to himself, “It’s time to man up. If you don’t do this now then you might never do it.” With a deep breath he said, “Callie. I love you. Seeing my sister like that after he left made me realize I should tell you that now. It made me think of all the times that I had hurt you and how I had abandoned you too. I don’t want to waste another minute without you in my arms.” Callie raised her hands and a scowl formed on her face, “Well that was random. BUT how do I know I can trust you Delsin? You know I’ve loved you since we met in highschool but you abandoned me for Amber. Even though I don’t bring it up or say it that often I’m still hurt by that, and frankly I’m even a little scared!” Delsin pulled her up on to her feet and reached out for her hand, and with the most sincere expression on his face he said, “Look at me Callie Weekes. I’m not a boy anymore! I figured out what Amber wanted as soon as the heir votes were announced and if I’m being honest here? I was tired of her trying to get in my pants all the time! I want us to take it slow, I want us to be able to build up our love and not go into it full force. For plums sake if you don’t want me to kiss you yet I won’t even do it!” He looked at Callie with pleading puppy dog eyes, “Just give me a chance Callie. That’s all I’m asking for. Just give me one chance to prove that I can be a good person for you.” A slow smile began to grow on Callie’s face as she wiped away the happy tears that were forming in the crease of her eye.
“Yes. After that speech I think it would be kind of rude if I said no, huh?” Delsin laughed and scooped her up into his arms. He buried his face into the nape of her neck, “We can take it slow. As slow as you want. I want this to work Callie, I do.”
