Delsin had been helping out with the babies so much that he had hardly any time for Callie. They had been dating for a while now and things had gotten pretty serious. Harley had practically kicked him out of the house and nursery so he would go spend time with her properly. So he decided to plan a day trip out to The Bluffs.
“I’m really sorry we haven’t seen each other as much as I’ve wanted to..”
Callie grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes,
“Don’t you worry about it. I completely understand that Harley needed help with the twins and you were the only one willing to. So how about we take this day to relax?”
The Bluffs was a renowned party location, but during the day it was peaceful and serene.
There was a leftover bonfire that had been made and Delsin decided to light it for warmth since the wind up there was making it chilly.
“Come here you.”
Delsin pulled Callie by the waist tightly against him. He had missed her so much and almost forgot how beautiful she was.
“Do you even know how much I’ve missed you?”
“Probably not half as much as I’ve missed you.”
They stood snuggled up at the fire for a while just talking away the afternoon.
Eventually Callie pulled them away and headed to the natural spring.
After they had changed into their bathing suits they sat on the side to dip their feet in the water.
“Oh my Creator! Have you been working out, because you look ripped!”
Delsin tilted his head to the side and winked,
“Why yes I have. You know my Dad’s on the force and he’s basically my workout coach.”
After some more playful flirting they slid into the water and splashed around. Of course, Delsin being the confident guy he is decided to try and impress Callie with a dive off the rocks. That didn’t end up going so well considering he belly flopped on the way down. Besides that, Delsin was glad they had the day to themselves. Ever since Coheed and Claudio had been born they had only seen each other for brief visits. Those visits though were intense enough as they were. When Callie made the first move to kiss him it was electric and if Delsin hadn’t stopped himself it would have turned into something much more.
When they got dressed again Delsin lead Callie near the edge of the cliff and brought her close. He had been thinking about this moment for a while and thought today would be the perfect day to do it, he just wasn’t sure how she would take it.
“You know I love you with all my heart, right?”
“Of course I know that.”
“Did you also know that I would be willing to spend the rest of my life with you?”
Delsin dropped down on one knee and reached into his pocket while Callie managed to squeak out,
“What are you doing?!”
“Callie Weekes, I know I was a stupid teenager and I almost lost you then but I don’t want to lose you now. You make me laugh and smile, you cheer me up when I’m feeling down, and you make me feel something I’ve never felt with anyone else. Will you be mine until the end?”
Callie cried out in delight as she jumped into Delsin’s arms,
“Yes! Of course I will marry you!”
“Don’t scare me like that I thought you were going to say no and then it would have been really awkward!”
Callie was in a fit of giddy giggles when Delsin put her down but he couldn’t help but to take her by the waist again and kiss her,
