This chapter is starting off with a picture of the house remodeled! We extended the living room and added another bathroom. The master bathroom was extended to add a bathtub and make it a little roomier too! The days went on with Camilo watching the kids when they got home from school, since Violet had to leave for work right when they got home. Both Sunny and James became straight A students and couldn't have made their parents more proud. With the house renovated Violet decided to plant some more flowers along the sidewalk up to the house because it looked weird with only one on one side. True to his nature James kept his love for instruments up into his teen years and started to learn how to play guitar. Since he played violin he had to start from scratch on learning a new instrument. It wasn't a problem for James because he mostly stayed in his room. He was a teen and he liked his alone time. This is the wall of pictures I created of Violet and Camilo! This will hang over their urns when they pass away. Which I hope isn't anytime soon because I love them so much! Violet took my advice and started to spend more time with her family she even tried to schedule family dinners on her days off! Violet: Hey Cam, I didn't know that you knew how to garden? Camilo: Actually I'm a gardening master, before I changed to painting I was the top gardener in the neighborhood. Violet: Oh well...the more you know, I guess. Well I was wondering if when you're done if we could talk about something inside. Camilo: Sure V, just give me a few minutes. Camilo: Okay what is it? Violet: Well since James is a teenager I think we should explain to him what a legacy means, I know he knows he is part of a one but I'm not sure he knows the stipulations. Camilo: Well when are we supposed to tell him? Violet: Well I have to go to work and since your his father I felt like he should hear it from you. Camilo: But V, I didn't even start this legacy, you did! Violet: I know but can you do this for me just this once? Please? I'll explain it to Sunny when she gets older! Camilo: Alright...fine. You better be glad I love you. Violet: I love you too Cami-Bear! Lucy: Thanks for inviting me over after school Sunny! My mom and dad aren't home so it's boring to go back there right now. Sunny: No problem Lucy! I love having a friend to hang out with that's my age. James grew up into a teenager so he can't play with me anymore, plus he's always looking at his stupid phone! Lucy: I actually have some bad news to tell you... Sunny: What is it? Lucy: My birthday is actually coming up and I didn't want you to get upset so I didn't ever tell you.. Sunny: What?! Your growing UP?! Lucy: I mean yea..I'm really sorry I was going to tell you! Sunny: Ugh..it's okay I guess...I better still be coming to your party! Lucy: Well of course! We're best friends for life! Lucy and Sunny spent the last day they had together as children watching cartoons and talking about everything and anything. With Violet off at work and James home from school he decided to sit his son down and explain everything to him. Camilo: Hey James I need to talk to you about something. James: If it's about Woohoo I already took Woohoo Ed Dad, so I know about it. Camilo: Oh well. Um. That's great? But that isn't what I was going to talk about, I was going to talk about the legacy. James: What about it? There's not that much I need to know. Camilo: Actually there is a lot you need to know, and me and your mom decided to tell you when you and your sister became teenagers. James: Alright dad, then shoot. Camilo: Well first of all, just because you're the first born doesn't mean that you automatically are the heir. James: Wait what!? Isn't that what happens with most legacies?! Camilo: Yes, but not with ours. When your mom filled out the form she decided that the community will vote for the heir they like the most. James: So that means me OR Sunny could get it? Camilo: Exactly, your mom wanted everyone to have a fair chance at the title of heir. James: Well I guess I understand that... Camilo: Also you may not move from this plot of land, and when me and your mother die you must make a memorial for us somehow. You must never demolish the house but keep building onto it, you can have as many children as you want and marry whomever you want but you MUST let everyone of your children have a fair chance at the title of heir. James: That's a lot of rules dad...is that it? Camilo: That's all I can think of right now. I know it's a lot to take in, but me and your mom just want you to be prepared if you get chosen to be the heir. When Camilo had just finished talking to James about the legacy he heard someone come through the door and realized it was Violet. Camilo: Hey V! What are you doing off of work early? Violet: You really think I would miss your birthday?! Nuh uh I'm making you a cake and throwing you a party and everything! Camilo: Aww V, I didn't even think about my own birthday! I love you babe. Violet: Right back at ya, toots! The party went off without a hitch! Everyone got dressed in their finest and Liberty and Lucy could even make it! It was a quite get together with Violet cooking and everyone listening to music. Before anyone knew it, it was time for Camilo to blow out the candles! Everyone say hello to the old Camilo! If I do say so myself, he grew up quite gracefully. After the party Violet went to go find her husband, she noticed he was looking a little glum and wanted to cheer him up. Violet: Well hello there handsome man, who might you be? Camilo: An old man who just happens to have a very pretty wife. Violet: Aww that's so sweet Cam. You know even though you're older I still think you're as handsome as ever. Camilo: Well I'm glad you think so, but it looks like my frosty locks wouldn't agree with you! Violet: Oh hush and follow me! With their parents occupied James and Sunny decided to do their homework together, and Sunny had some interesting news for James, Sunny: Soooo can I tell you something? James: Sure, short stuff. Sunny: Okay so you remember Lucy? James: Yea, what about her? Sunny: Well her birthday was recently and now she's the same age as you. James: Why do I care? We haven't spoken since I grew up. Sunny: Well, just thought you oughta know. James: Ugh can we change the channel, I don't want to watch these kid cartoons anymore. Sunny: Well I don't think you'll care about what's on the TV any second now. Lucy: Hey guys! I knocked on the door but Sunny texted me saying the door was unlocked so I just came on in! James: L-L-Lucy? Is that you?! You um. Kinda. Grew up. Lucy: Well yea, Sunny came over for my birthday the other day and we hung out for a while. Sunny: Heheh James is tongue tied. James: Shush Sunny! Um so Lucy, wanna sit down? Cause I can scoot over! Lucy: Sure, I was hoping I wouldn't have to stand the entire time I was over. James: Uh well. I'll. Um. Be right back I have to go talk to my dad real quick! Lucy: Um..okay? Sunny: Your choking up James, pull yourself together man! Camilo: Hey there son, who's that pretty young lady over there? James: That is Liberty and Travis's daughter, Lucy! Camilo: Seriously? Wow she looks a lot like her mother! James: Okay dad not the point here. I have no idea how to talk to her! I keep freaking out. Camilo: Why don't you just ask if she wants to go to the park and hang out? It's no big deal, just act like she's a friend and not a girl. James: Um okay...I gotta go to the bathroom I feel queasy. Camilo: Jeez son... Lucy: Hey Mr.Belle, why is James acting so weird? He's been in the bathroom for like, ever and his face keeps turning red every time I talk to him. Camilo: Ah well, that is for me to know and you to find out. Lucy: Okaaaaay...? James took his dads advice and asked Lucy if she wanted to go to the park, just to hang out of course, and she accepted! James: So what should we, ya know, do? Lucy: Well we could play chess! My mom taught me how to play and I love it! James: Holy crap, Lucy, you're kicking my butt. Lucy: Heh, well I didn't want to tell you but I'm kind of a genius so I'm pretty good at this kind of thing. James: Are you serious?! No fair! You've got home field advantage then! Lucy: Oh don't be such a big baby! For the rest of the time at the park they kept bickering playfully and talking about life, eventually James's nervousness wore off and he felt right at home talking to Lucy. Before they both knew it their time was up and it was time to head home before curfew hit. James: Well I guess this is goodbye.. Lucy: Yea..until next time..wanna hug or..something. Okay maybe not. That was a weird question. Before Lucy could say another word, James brought her in for a big hug and held her for a little bit to long for a friendly hug, and turned away and said bye very quickly. When James got home he looked up at the stars while smiling ear to ear,
James: Whoever is out there, if you can hear me. Thank you for introducing me to Lucy when we were kids. I owe you big time. That's it for now folks! Will James and Lucy keep seeing each other? What will happen?! Find out in the next chapter! See ya!
